Captain Alan J. Snyder is the Recruiting Officer and an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at The University of Maryland, Air Force ROTC Det. 330 focusing on recruiting, developing, assessing, training, and educating future officers and leaders.

Prior to his current assignment, Captain Snyder served as the Deputy Branch Chief of E-3 AWACS & E-7 Wedgetail Contracting Division, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. Capt Snyder trained and advised a team of 55 personnel in the execution of an $783 million contract portfolio in support of Hanscom AFB, 3 program executive offices and 15 geographically separated units, enabling more than $4 billion in annual contract obligations. Additionally, he led a 21-member team, as the Plans and Programs Section Lead, in the execution of a $341 million ACAT III program transition on behalf of France, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

Captain Snyder earned his commission in 2017 from The Citadel, and is a native of Baltimore, MD.
